What are the treatments?

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, Japanese healing reactive that involves channeling universal life force through the hands to support the body’s natural ability to heal. Rooted in the teachings of Mikao Usui in the early 20th century, Reiki is typically performed with the client lying fully clothed while the practitioner lightly places or hovers their hands over the body. The goal is to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress and restore energetic balance – emotionally, physically & spiritually.

Though subtle, many people report feelings of warmth, calm, or emotional release during a session. While Reiki isn’t a substitute for medical care, it is widely used as a complementary therapy in wellness and healthcare settings. It encourages the body’s natural healing process by helping to calm the nervous system and support overall wellbeing

What is Indian Head Massage?

Indian Head Massage is a traditional therapeutic practice roots in the ancient Ayurvedic healing system of India. It focuses on massaging in the scalp, face, neck, shoulders, arms and hands, using a variety of gentle and invigorating techniques to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and improve overall wellbeing.

During a session, the client is seated. The practitioner uses kneading, circular strokes and pressure point work to release muscle tension and stimulate energy flow. Indian Head Massage is especially effective for relieving stress, headaches, eye strain, jaw tension and neck/shoulder stiffness. It also supports circulation, can boost hair health, and may leave the client feeling deeply calm, clear-headed and rebalanced.

What is Full Body Massage?

A full body massage is a therapeutic treatment that involves massaging the entire body – from head to toe – to relax muscles, improve circulation and promote overall physical and mental wellbeing. it typically includes the back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, hands, and sometimes the tummy, scalp and face.

Using techniques like long gliding strokes, kneading and gentle pressure, a full body massage helps to release tension, ease pain, reduce stress and encourage deep relaxation. It can also support better sleep, boost the immune system, and enhance your body’s natural healing processes. Sessions are usually done with clients in their underwear and covered with towels, with only the area being worked on exposed..

What is Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage?

A Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage is a focused treatment that targets the areas where most people hold stress and tension – particularly from posture, work, or emotional strain. This type of massage uses techniques such as kneading, circular motions, and deep pressure to release tight muscles and improve circulation in the upper back, shoulders and neck.

It’s especially beneficial for those tho experience stiffness, headaches, tension from desk work, or general upper-body discomfort. A session typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes and can leave you feeling lighter, more mobile and deeply relaxed. It’s a great option when you’re short on time but in need of targeted relief.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage is a therapeutic treatment that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Using slow, firm pressure and targeted techniques, it works to release tension, ease chronic muscle tightness, and help the body restore balance.

Unlike a gentle relaxation massage, Deep Tissue Massage is designed to address persistent aches, muscle stiffness, and specific problem areas. It’s often used for chronic tension in the neck, shoulder or back; sports or repetitive strain injuries; postural problems or recovery from intense physical activity.

Deep Tissue Massage is a great choice if you’re looking for something more focused and restorative than a light relaxation massage – perfect for when your body needs that extra level of care.

Benefits can include; improved mobility and flexibility, reduced pain and inflammation, increased blood flow to aid healing; release of built-up stress and muscle knots.

During the massage, your therapist will use their hands, forearms, and sometimes elbows to gradually reach deeper muscle layers. While you may feel some strong pressure, it should never be unbearably painful – open communication with your therapist ensures the treatment stays effective and comfortable.

What Is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, rhythmic therapy designed to support the body’s lymphatic system — the network that helps remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid while supporting your immune system.

Using light, sweeping movements, MLD encourages lymph to flow freely through the body. It helps to:

  • Reduce swelling, puffiness, or fluid retention
  • Support recovery after illness, surgery, or injury
  • Boost the immune system
  • Ease tension and calm the nervous system

MLD is deeply relaxing and entirely non-invasive. Many people describe it as soothing, balancing, and quietly restorative.

At Sanare, MLD can be beneficial for those living with long-term health conditions, recovering from medical treatment, or simply looking to support their body’s natural rhythm of cleansing and renewal.

What Is Oncology Massage?

Oncology Massage is a specialised form of massage designed with the needs and safety of people living with or recovering from cancer in mind.

Every treatment is carefully adapted to each client’s unique situation — taking into account medical history, current symptoms, and levels of energy or fatigue.
Pressure, positioning, and duration are all adjusted to ensure comfort and care.

Benefits may include:

  • Reduced pain, anxiety, and fatigue
  • Improved sleep and mood
  • Relief from muscle tension or swelling
  • A sense of calm and connection during or after treatment

Oncology massage is safe, nurturing, and deeply supportive — offering space to simply be in your body again, without expectation or strain.

What is our Pause. Breathe. Restore. Treatment?

90 minutes of supported massage and deep rest tailored to your specific needs. The overall aim is to reduce and manage cortisol and other hormone levels in your body to allow the body to move into a period of restorative rest.

Massage has been cited as a great tool to help manage high cortisol and peri and post menopause changes.

The first 45 minutes of the treatment will be a combination of the best parts of Swedish Full Body Massage and Indian Head Massage, including Marma points, and bespoke massage focussed on your specific needs.

45 minutes of deep rest and reiki will follow, with your body on a warming mat, gently propped so that no effort is required from you to just be, breathe and allow your body to restore whilst receiving reiki and swaddled in towels and a weighted blanket to make the most of the time you have taken for yourself.

You can chose your massage oil from our range of The Ilex Wood small batch oils, or bring a blend of your own. Chose your own soundtrack and the level of heat provided by the mat as well as the specific massage areas targeted.

We would recommend that appointments are made in the evenings, weekends and end of days to allow rest after the appointment and the opportunity to have deep, restful sleep afterwards.

To book, please message us in the usual way so that we can start planning your personalised treatment. Pause. Breathe. Restore.

The Gentle Reset

A soft awakening after winter

Created with the turning of the season in mind, The Gentle Reset is a deeply nurturing 120-minute treatment designed to support the body as it moves from deep winter rest into the early stirrings of spring.

Inspired by Imbolc — the quiet midpoint between winter and spring — this treatment is not about pushing forward or forcing change. It is about unfurling gently, allowing the body to release winter’s heaviness in its own time and begin stretching towards the returning light.

After months of cold, darkness, and contraction, many bodies feel heavy, sluggish, or overwhelmed. Energy may be low, circulation slower, and the nervous system still in protection mode. This is not something to fix — it is something to listen to.

The Gentle Reset combines:

  • Swedish Massage
Warming, flowing movements to soften muscles, ease accumulated tension, and invite a sense of spaciousness back into the body.
  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
Gentle, rhythmic techniques to support the lymphatic system, reduce fluid retention and heaviness, and encourage natural detoxification and flow.

Together, these therapies work in harmony to calm the nervous system, support circulation, and help the body let go of what winter has left behind — physically, emotionally, and energetically.

This is not an energising “reset” that demands change.
It is a soft rebalancing.

Many people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and quietly restored — as though something has shifted without effort or force.

The Gentle Reset is a bridge between seasons.
A treatment that honours where the body has been, while gently preparing it for what comes next.

Corporate Massage

Presence-based care for the workplace

At Sanare, corporate massage is offered as more than a workplace perk — it’s a form of grounding, restorative care that supports both physical wellbeing and nervous system regulation.

Modern working life often asks a lot of the body: prolonged sitting, repetitive movement, screen fatigue, stress, and constant mental demand. Over time, this can show up as tension, headaches, fatigue, reduced focus, and emotional overwhelm.

Corporate massage offers employees a pause — a moment to reset, breathe, and return to work feeling calmer, clearer, and more supported.

What is corporate massage?

Corporate massage is typically delivered on-site, within the workplace, and can be offered as:

  • Seated (chair) massage

Sessions usually focus on areas most affected by work-related strain, including:

  • Neck and shoulders
  • Upper and lower back
  • Arms, hands, and wrists

Treatments are adapted to each individual, offered with care, consent, and presence.

The Sanare approach

Corporate massage at Sanare is presence-based and nervous-system aware.

This means treatments are:

  • Calm and unhurried
  • Tailored to how the body presents on the day
  • Focused on settling the nervous system as well as easing physical tension
  • Offered without pressure to “fix” or perform

Employees are met where they are — whether they’re carrying stress, fatigue, or simply in need of a quiet moment of care.

Benefits for employees

  • Reduced muscle tension and discomfort
  • Improved posture awareness
